My favorite Mexican town is not in Mexico but in the USA. It is Mesilla, NM. My wife and I toured some towns in the Southwest in the summer of 2012. We visited La Mesilla and Silver City, New Mexico. This book is about La Mesilla and is really a tour of the Historic Town in pictures, captions and narratives.
We also dined at the La Posta Restaurant. The history of the building which houses the La Posta parallels the history of La Mesilla.

I love travelling, and I always find it interesting to read about places I haven't been to and don't know much about. It's always good to read a personal account of someone else's visit, rather than just a factual tourist book. If ever we get to travel through New Mexico, this little book will have provided a great basis for the visit.Product details

The pictures were stunning and you really get the impression of the town of La Mesilla. It even kind of makes you want to just get up and go there. My compliments to the author; the art work is superb.
This is an introduction to the town. I was expecting more history, which it does not dwell upon. Reads much more like a visitor's bureau piece.
This author is an expert in living in Mexico and this book about Mesilla NM is interesting. Not too long, so you can have a 'quick vacation.' The photos give you an idea of the town and area and the text makes you want to visit.
"A Visit to Historic La Mesilla, New Mexico" is an interesting and very useful books for those who likes traveling. Nice pictures, historical facts, places to visit are in this book. And it's good not just for travelers, but also for those who just like to learn more about American-Mexican cities.
In traveling with George on a Visit to Historic Las Mesilla, New Mexico, we are able to stroll in the footsteps of famed Billy the Kid, Roy Bean, and Pat Garrett to view the streets as they looked to them and steep our imagination in the exotic past. What fun. Love the photos.
